Manuel Ricar­do Gar­cia — Exhi­bi­tion: Trans*people of the World

is an inter­na­tion­al project about Trans*people world­wide. I trav­elled
the world for many years and took pic­tures of 50 Trans*people in their
home cities — I por­tray each of them as spe­cial and beau­ti­ful in their
own dis­tinct ways, with their indi­vid­ual pride and strength, but also
their vul­ner­a­bil­i­ties. Some of them live in coun­tries where there is a
trans* move­ment, oth­ers live in coun­tries where they have to fight a
ter­ri­bly exhaust­ing bat­tle every day of their lives to sur­vive.

I am Manuel Ricar­do Gar­cia, a two-spir­it and queer FTM of col­or. I am a
Trans*activist and Pho­toartist from Europe, founder of the Munich
Trans*-and Inter*convention, the biggest Con­ven­tion in Europe, Autor of
the book „Trans­men of the World“, win­ner of the Pride Pho­to Award 2011 -
Ams­ter­dam, founder of the QTPOC group “Beyond Col­or.” I am the role­mod­el
and devel­op­er for Trans*gay peo­ple of the biggest safe sex cam­pagne
IWWIT in Ger­many. I am a facil­i­ta­tor, a heal­er, a teacher for
Empow­er­work for POC’s & spir­i­tu­al work and all transtopics. I am
cur­rent­ly based in Munich and I have fam­i­ly in Chi­huahua Mex­i­co. “I am
danc­ing to the beat of a dif­fer­ent drum”.
